Almost perfect For IJAN This is the second dwelling unit under water for a Canon digital camera I ever had. I bought this just in time for a one week cruise in the Caribbean and has a lot of use out of it. More or less what it says it does, nothing surprising, but a couple of improvements since the last time I had (my Powershot S50):
- Size. Obviously, the camera is smaller, so that housing will be lower, but still, I give credit to Canon for making housing not much bigger than it has to be so you can still enjoy the relatively small size bought the camera for
- Clarity. This is an improvement of both the cause and the camera itself, but w / my old LCD screen could very difficult to see even in Caribbean waters. The plastic in this case seems a bit more trnaslucent possibly thinner due to its total size. The Improved LCD SD 780IS (which is fantastic, of course, along w / the camera itself) also helps. Either way, it's much easier to see what is about to shoot. I was able to get some great shots w / her. If I remember, I'll try to post some examples.
- Flash diffuser. I recently took a photography course and learned a lot about lighting, including the benefits of a diffuser, so I was very happy to see that this house has one, which the old did not. It's amazing how much difference it makes! All shots requiring a flash light look natural, none of the harsh shadows that get defined before. This can be the difference between a beautiful shot and removed. Also, keep in mind that this camera case is also useful above the water too, for times when you take it to the beach and just want to protect the camera - I took many photos of the land where the diffuser really helped the flash too.
In general, if you like diving, snorkeling, or any other activity that need the protection of water, this is a must have! Do not waste your time and money on cheap disposable underwater cameras that can not approach the quality of the SD 780 can offer. At the time of making a couple of times, and get your processed film, the well on his way to the purchase of this case and have much better photos (not to mention video) to prove it.
