A good enough to replace 35 mm point and shoot! For GypsyPilot My review will focus on how well the 370z replaces a point and shoot 35 mm. I've been very happy with my Pentax IQZoom90WR for six years and wanted to see if the 370Z could replace all situations. The quality of the goal: There is no distinction, except in the way of high definition television in small focal lengths, where the curvature is noticeable on the sides. Still acceptable. RESOLUTION: There is no distinction in 4x6/4x7 prints at ASA 100 and 200. The lack of precise definition of the edges with ASA 400, but still acceptable. If you want to blow up the 8x10, you'll want to use ASA 100 and is limited to bright light situations. If I decide to spend the night outdoors photography (such as Disneyland parade), I will go back to my 35mm with ASA 400. (I should note however that the 370Z performed well .. I'm a bit of a perfectionist) RED-EYE REDUCTION: It is not as effective as my Pentax IQZ90WR. Based on the pictures I have taken, Red-eye occurs in 10-15% of my photos with flash in his face. The appearance of my Pentax is less than 1%, but makes use of a pre-flash, while the 370Z uses a mini-lamp. PORTABILITY: Excellent! She put it in your case and strap belt and not know it's there. This is a great advantage of the 370Z, allowing you to enjoy your surroundings as well as being a photographer. The worst shot in the world is not because I had had your camera with you. Focal lengths: Comparable, but the 370Z is a step-zoom of 35 mm while my account with a continuous zoom. This is not a big deal since you rarely encounter a situation that requires absoultely accurate drawing with a zoom. Frame formats: the panorama shows too much grain at 200 ASA or higher. Good thing ... Mid-roll Change Cartridge: Great feature! It has allowed me to change ASA400 ASA100 at night and when the sun was shining. FAVORITE TOPIC: If only it were weatherproof or splashing. SUMMARY: It has replaced my 35mm point and shoot for the documentation of my family and holiday activities, but still have my 35 mm in a bag or car for rainy days, special shots at night, or situations where might want a photo blow-up to 8x10. This camera is well designed for your target market, the photographer wants to capture the common everyday shooting.
