Ideal camera Snorkeler By M. Broderick I took this camera on my vacation to Hawaii, and was very happy with it. The underwater photography is excellent, far superior to those produced by the disposable cameras. The flash is very useful for close-up underwater, and the large display is useful when looking through a mask. Water above the image quality is quite good, although the lack of a telephoto option hurts. The camera is very durable - I dropped from waist height on the track twice, and still running smoothly. Although the manual warns that the battery charged can not float in fresh water, floating mine in my bathroom sink, even with the battery and film. I would add a couple of caveats - When the film is removed, the camera sets the film to "set" so you can not reinsert the end of the roll film, as some APS cameras allowed. This means moving from 100 ASA and 400 ASA film (for example) means sacrifice any number of shots remaining on the roll. The camera requires minimal care and cleaning after use, especially the use of salt water. Furthermore, there is the lens cap, which makes me apprehensive when packing the camera around. I have not touched the lens, but often worry about it. Despite a zoom lens is clearly not practical, it certainly would be nice to have a goal of two positions with a normal and telephoto settings. Despite these objections, I love the camera!
